Today was the start of a brand-new adventure! I flew from San Antonio, Texas to Salt Lake City — such an interesting city, literally built around the Great Salt Lake. Then I connected to Vancouver, Canada, and what a beautiful welcome it was!

I’m staying right at the Fairmont inside the Vancouver airport (a dream for a travel lover — elegant, peaceful, and steps from the gates). After checking in, I decided to be brave and hop on the train into downtown Vancouver. Solo travel moment! 💪

The ride was smooth and scenic, and soon I was standing along the waterfront near Canada Place. The cool air, the mountain backdrop, and the fall colors were breathtaking. I treated myself to a maple oatmeal latte (how perfectly Canadian!) and wandered along the harbor, just soaking it all in.

Later, I took the train back to the airport and spent time exploring — the artwork, the calm atmosphere, and of course, some really good food. This airport feels more like an art gallery than a transportation hub.

Travel Tip ✈️

I flew Delta and paid extra for Premium Comfort seating. My first leg from San Antonio to Salt Lake City was fantastic — ample legroom, comfy seats, a personal screen for movies, and excellent customer care. But the connecting flight from Salt Lake City to Vancouver was a completely different experience. It was a smaller commuter plane, and although labeled “Premium Comfort,” the seats were cramped, the electronics were outdated, and there was no free Wi-Fi like on the first flight. You could even feel the metal under the seat — definitely not the comfort I expected. A good reminder that “premium” can vary depending on the aircraft!

Day one was filled with discovery, courage, and the pure joy of traveling solo — seeing something new, sipping something sweet, and remembering how alive the world feels when you step out of your comfort zone. 🌍✨
